Aadhar Card Password

What is an Aadhaar Card Password?

The Aadhaar card primarily consists of a 12-digit unique identification number called the Aadhaar number. It is a unique number given to every Indian resident. Furthermore, an Aadhaar card contains both an individual’s biometric as well as demographic details.

The Aadhaar project is run and supervised under the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). In view to ensure the privacy and protection of all the Aadhaar card holders, the UIDAI guarded it with a password while using it online.

After downloading the e-Aadhaar from the official website of UIDAI, the user is asked to unlock the PDF format file with a provided password. Moreover, the password consists 8-characters. These 8 characters password will initiate with your name following your birth date. Thus, the first 4 letters of the password will include your name (to be mentioned in your Aadhaar card) in the capital letters. The last four letters will be the year of your birth.

Why is the Password required?

Your e-Aadhaar file is a password protected PDF file by UIDAI. It is because the PDF is widely reckoned as a safe digital file format, and when it is protected with a password, the security shield of the digital document exemplifies.

To sum it up, an exclusive combination of the first 4-letters of your name in CAPITALS and next 4-letters of your birth year (in YYYY format) is your Aadhaar card PDF password or in simple language your aadhaar card password.
